Mental Health at Work

The University of Calgary is a global intellectual hub, with a spirited, high-quality learning environment where students thrive in programs made rich by research, hands-on experiences and entrepreneurial thinking.

In December 2015, the university launched its Campus Mental Health Strategy to support the mental health and well-being of students, faculty, staff and post-doctoral scholars. Since then, the university has initiated and implemented programs and resources to fulfill the 28 recommendations of the Strategy.

WellBeing and WorkLife provide programs that promote a strong culture of well-being and offer mental health and wellness resources. The university has also been recognized for its work-life programs, policies and practices. Surveys are undertaken to develop benchmarks and measure progress, while various learning opportunities promote positive mental health and help employees increase their own resilience and healthy habits.

The University of Calgary’s annual Recognition Awards honour 15- and 25-year long service award recipients and U Make a Difference award recipients and nominees.
