Course Description

How to Communicate Ideas to People who may not be Interested

Sometimes we have amazing data to share, and no one cares. Sometimes we have great news to present about our progress, and no one is listening. Sometimes we have the most interesting update, and it goes over people’s heads.

Simple structure and delivery techniques can help you get your message out to an inattentive audience. Drawing on research about how the brain handles and recalls information, this session will provide you with techniques to improve your delivery of ideas.

Course Performance

Improving the way you communicate and deliver your message will engage your audience, from front line employees all the way to the CEO, to share in your passion and knowledge.

There are three main concepts that we will explore:

  1. Make Me Feel Something
  2. Teach Me Something New
  3. Help Me Remember Something

These concepts will help to optimize the dopamine levels in the brain, which helps to increase memory.

“Me” in these headings is referring to the audience member of any presentation. Whether you are conducting keynote presentation at a conference, or a 5-minute update at a staff meeting, awareness of these concepts will improve the experience for anyone who hears you speak.

A presentation measurement tool, to score any presentation you have delivered or attended, will also be explored. This tool will allow you to measure your delivery of ideas and highlight opportunities for improvement.
