With a history dating back 130 years, Manulife is a leading global financial services company. Its principal operations are based in Canada, the United States (operating as John Hancock) and Asia. The Canadian division employs over 12,000; one in three Canadians benefit from its services.
Manulife has established a well-being framework across Canada that aligns with Excellence Canada’s four key drivers and enables the company to operationalize wellness for both physical and mental health in the workplace. In 2017, the company added a financial wellbeing pillar to this framework. Manulife’s flexible benefits program was also redesigned, and includes a $10,000 Mental Health annual benefit for all employees at no extra cost.
Manulife has been enhancing tools, education and resources to improve the employee experience and make work-life balance easier. Upgraded communication tools are simplifying collaboration and connection.
