CanmetENERGY-Ottawa is a world-respected team of professionals committed to being a leader in the development of energy science and technology solutions for the environmental and economic benefit of Canadians. The branch engages in research and development in the areas of energy efficiency, clean fossil fuels, and renewable and alternative energy sources.
CanmetENERGY-Ottawa’s excellence journey began in 2016 with a shift from the ISO quality management structure, which it adopted 19 years ago, to Excellence Canada’s format and an integrated wellness component. It has now adopted a Mental Health and Well-being Strategy that coordinates and integrates efforts to enhance employee health, safety and well-being. Because of widespread management and employee support, the organization has been able to continually improve existing processes and priorities as well as introduce new ones.

Employees volunteered their time to the City of Ottawa’s Doors Open 2017 weekend event, sharing information about our innovative energy technology research with the public.
