Mental Health at Work
Across Boundaries, a not-for-profit organization established in 1995, has been dedicated to a mission of providing high quality person and family centered mental health and addiction care for racialized communities, from an anti-racism, resisting anti-Black racism, and anti-oppression framework. Operating primarily in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), they specialize in serving Black and other racialized communities, including newcomers, immigrants, and refugees. Over their 28-year journey, Across Boundaries has built a strong reputation as a leader, for its commitment to equitable care, rooted in a holistic approach to well-being.
Across Boundaries has undertaken a strategic direction centered on fostering a psychologically healthy and safe work environment, by aligning policies and practices with the Mental Health at Work (MH@W) guidelines by Excellence Canada and showing up for their people in exceptional ways. Across Boundaries had received the Bronze Certification in 2019 and has been awarded the CAE Silver certification in Mental Health at Work® in 2023.
The organization’s dedication to optimizing physical health, promoting positive psychological well-being, and nurturing social connections within the workforce underscores their mission to create an inclusive, respectful, and wellness-focused workplace for all their staff in the most sustainable way possible.
