2018 Platinum Recipient
Excellence, Innovation and Wellness

Ontario Parks is a system of 340 provincial parks spread from the Arctic shores of Hudson’s Bay to the Carolinian forests of southwestern Ontario. The single largest provider of outdoor recreation in Ontario, Ontario Parks conserve biodiversity, sequester carbon, reduce flood risk and protect provincially significant elements of Ontario’s natural and cultural heritage.

Committed to process improvement and the Excellence journey, Ontario Parks has achieved certification through Excellence Canada five times consecutively since 2006. Over the last 15 years, Ontario Parks has made process improvement part of its normal business. Innovative practices, leadership training, a customer service focus, strategic planning and health and wellness are demonstrated in the daily actions and guiding documents for the organization. These successful business practices have led to improved financial sustainability, higher staff engagement, a sustained increase in visitation, and award-winning environmental and educational programs.
