Peel Regional Police (PRP) is the second largest municipal police service in Ontario, with 2,068 sworn officers, 29 cadets, 823 civilian support staff and 134 part-time and temporary staff. It provides policing services to the 1.3 million residents of the cities of Brampton and Mississauga.

The PRP’s 2017-2019 Strategic Plan, entitled “A Safer Community Together,” is based on extensive consultations with a wide variety of stakeholders. It includes performance indicators for each strategic goal, collecting information for planning purposes. Over the past 10 years, a “Member Focused Workplace” has been nurtured with the introduction of numerous programs and initiatives including: Corporate Communications, Organizational Wellness, and Risk Mitigation bureau; a psychological safeguarding program; attendance management; numerous employee-driven committees; and many new and upgraded information technology systems. PRP has been recognized with awards from numerous independent community organizations.
