Getting Started on Your
Journey to Excellence

There are two Pathways to Certification. The following steps are for organizations interested in creating a culture of continual improvement in their organization and being certified as they progress.

Purchase Certification Package

[

Understand and Review the Standard

Form internal teams to discuss and review the scope, content and requirements of the standard at the level of certification they are pursuing.

[

Conduct Assessment

Use the guide and assessment worksheets to conduct an internal self-assessment that will identify strengths, opportunities for improvement, and score the organization to determine how you measures against the requirements. The results of the self-assessment will determine if your organization is ready to apply for certification and form a vital component of your submission package.

[

Prepare Submission & Apply

If your organization’s score determines that you meet certification requirements, you are now ready to apply for recognition. Use the provided Excellence Canada template to submit and apply.

[

Distribute & Conduct Excellence Canada Employee Survey

Prior to the onsite verification visit, the organization will distribute an anonymous survey that is designed to obtain feedback from employees on how well the organization is performing across key drivers of the standard. This feedback will help verifiers validate the information provided within the submission and highlight strengths and opportunities for improvement.

[

On-site Verification

The On-site verification occurs after a comprehensive review of your organization’s submission and survey results. Representatives from Excellence Canada will verify and expand on the key strengths of your organization’s submissions through face-to-face discussions with your senior leadership team, management, employees, customers and partners.
