Prix Canada pour l’excellence

Profil du récipiendaire

Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services, Government of Nova Scotia

Récipiendaire – Argent 2019
Excellence, Innovation et Mieux-être

In 2015, two Government of Nova Scotia departments started excellence journeys. The Office of Service Nova Scotia had a key role in making government interactions easier for citizens and business; and delivered high quality, accessible programs and services across multiple channels.

Internal Services supported the public sector by delivering financial transactions, audits of government operations, information technology, and public sector procurement. Both departments achieved Bronze in Excellence, Innovation and Wellness® (EIW) in 2017, starting their work toward Silver shortly after.

In June 2019, the two departments were merged into the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services. The merger brought together the people, processes, and technology that support the services Nova Scotians expect of their government. Collectively, SNS-IS will represent end-to-end expertise. While their EIW Silver journeys started as separate entities, SNS-IS collaborated throughout the process, and celebrate the accomplishment of EIW Silver, and the continuation of their work in excellence, innovation and wellness together.

“As Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services come together as one team, we bring focused, end-to-end expertise to support excellence in the delivery of programs and services. The shared services approach brings together the people, processes and technology that help deliver the services that Nova Scotians expect of their government. Excellence Canada has provided us with the framework to continue to pursue Excellence during this merger.”
