Ontario Shores is an innovative leader in mental health care, with a dedicated team of 1,300 staff and 150 volunteers who are passionate about enhancing care for people affected by mental health and addictions.

In 2013, the hospital became one of 40 Canadian organizations to adopt The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace as part of a case study with the Mental Health Commission of Canada. It has an Integrated Wellness Plan that facilitates a holistic approach to wellness, a list of guiding principles that considers the psychosocial impact of organization-wide decisions, and a policy statement that holds the organization accountable to preventing harm, promoting health, resolving issues, monitoring organizational culture, and working towards sustainability and continual improvement of staff well-being.
