Excellence Canada Appoints New President

Shirlee Sharkey, Board Chair of Excellence Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean J. Slater as Incoming President of Excellence Canada reporting to the Board of Directors. His appointment is effective July 2, 2024.

Sean has held successively senior positions in the services sector with a particular focus on health and well-being. He was most recently Executive Vice President of Revenue & Customer Experience at Homewood Health. Sean has direct personal experience with the Excellence Canada certification journey with past employers.

“The Board is excited about Sean’s appointment to lead and grow Excellence Canada’s positive impact on Canadian organizations who wish to pursue excellence in everything they do” says Sharkey.

“I truly appreciate the confidence the Board has shown in selecting me to lead an organization for which I have so much respect. I am very much looking forward to building on the great work of the Excellence Canada team over the last 40 years” says Slater.

Allan Ebedes, the current President and CEO, will continue as CEO for a transition period before retiring later this year.

“We have been fortunate to have benefited from Allan’s excellent leadership for the last 18 years. During his tenure, Excellence Canada has continued to prosper and help hundreds of organizations pursue the excellence journey” says Sharkey.
