Mental Health at Work
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board is one of the largest insurance organizations in North America. It covers more than five million people in more than 300,000 workplaces across Ontario. Funded by businesses, the WSIB also provides no-fault collective liability insurance and access to industry-specific health and safety information. The WSIB employs about 4,500 people located in Toronto and 13 regional offices across the province.
The WSIB’s journey with Excellence Canada began in 2005 when it set out on a mission to improve the culture of workplace health and wellness. The release of the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace was a catalyst for change. The WSIB is proud to have created and launched a comprehensive strategy and a policy that focuses on preventing mental injury and promoting holistic wellbeing to all employees.
